04/10/09: Full disclosure: this is not one of those over-the-top, gooey, brownie-masquerading-as-a-cookie cookies. But it is a rich, sophisticated cookie in its own right, one made from whole wheat flour and oats, with a crumb slightly reminiscent of shortbread but not nearly as dense.
